Baryshnikov Mikhail : Ballet dancer and actor (1948)
Baryshnikov Mikhail comes the first on my list of the Russains we all know. He was born in Riga and studied in St. Petersburg. Later he joined Kirov (now known as Mariinsky) theatre in 1960 as a soloist. While on tour with a group in Canada (1974), Baryshnikov chose to remain to extend his range by including modern ballets. This phenomenal skilled performer joined the North American Ballet Theatre and became its Director shortly. His contribution gave him a reception to the court, which was exploited covetously in an appalling life of debauchery, along with pulling the picture of the court and the imperial family farther into the mud. Rasputin political influence grew soon thanks to his control of Tsarina Alexandra. Key army and political personnel were dropped or chosen according to his need. Later , some monarchists sent by Prince Yusupov murdered him.
Lenin Vladimir: Russian Statesman: (1870-1924)
Lenin Vladimir was an activist and creator of Bolsheviks party, who was delegated as founder behind the Soviet Union and directed it above 65 years. He studied from the University of St. Petersburg. Later his connection with revolutionary politics awarded him 3 years of exile in Siberia (1897). After that, he went to Switzerland (1900) and became the leader of Bolsheviks in 1905 during the unfinished revolution.
