Five speedy ways to improve your copy writing artistry

By Juli Decati

First things first. As you begin to write, write with one specific person in mind. Whether it's an actual letter or via the web, you want to keep in mind that that letter is going to only one person and it should speak to them directly. Grab the reader in the first sentence. Create an interest right away and let it be a catchy phrase so they are enticed to read through the rest of the article. Be creative and use graphics such as bullets. Folks like to quickly scan a page, and the graphics help them to get through the article more efficiently than they normally would without using any graphics.

Use bullets. People like to scan, and if they can read anything a little bit quicker, you are saving them time, and using bullets makes that whole process a heck of a lot easier. So use them.

Just let it flow, don't hold anything back. When you're starting to write a letter, it is very difficult to just start from top to bottom and write everything. When it comes to writing it and actually putting everything down in order, I want you to just write as it's coming out. You're going to have moments when inspiration hits you and your pen is going to go like crazy or your fingers are going to go like crazy on the computer keyboard, and I want you to just let it flow.

Think about what your goal is, what is the ultimate success in what you are now writing or what you have written in the past? Is there a way to show the individual you are writing to how you have been successful in the past? Show the individual awards, references, or objects showing your success.

Here they are, five pointers to get you started in enriching your copywriting and public speaking abilities. Don't consider this as one stop shopping, but instead think of it as a way to get going and improving your copywriting skills. The wait is over, get going now!
