Giving a Speech: Don't Be Afraid!

When your speech is already written and it looks that the toughest parts of picking a subject, researching and putting it all together are done, you have another problem: how to fight your stage fright? In the beginning you need to realise that even famous actors, politicians, vocalists, and political figures have the same problem when they are facing their audience. So don't believe you only have this problem - everyone has stage fright.

So to be confident you need to understand that practice makes perfect. Try to rehearse your speech many times so that your voice will sound confident when you'll be standing in front of the audience. Ask somebody to watch your walk thru and tell you if you mess up. That person can give you some advice on what you are doing wrong. Different people show different indications of anxiety and usually they do it unconsciously, so it's the best when someone else can watch you and tell you what you were doing wrong.

And do not forget that everyone knows how it feels to give a speech. Don't be fearful of your audience, they are on your side. There isn't any point in being nervous. You came there to share some information with the audience and they are ready to hear what you have got to tell them. Don't be scared as you are scared to say something wrong or that you will have one of those moments when your consciousness is going blank - you're prepared and you know your topic so there's unquestionably not going to be such moments. Just remember that and be assured!

You may also get there early, in order to become used to the place and it is even good to acknowledge your foreboding. When you know it is there you simply stop seeing it.
