How to Find Lots of New Readers for Your Blog

By Hitesh Patel

Popular blogs are always full of activity as readers of the blog leave comments, talk about the blog, share it with others and help it become important to the rest of your blogging community. So the real question that arises, then, is this: why are some blogs experiencing so much interest from their target audiences while others don't get to enjoy the fun of a loyal readership? Why do some blogs look like they always get all of the attention while others barely get any attention at all? The answer to these questions is, basically, traction; blogs that actually put real effort into getting more readers actually enjoy higher traction levels than the others that put less effort into building their readership; it really is that simple. Here are a few ideas that are easy to understand and that will help you gain more readers for your blog without having to turn yourself inside out.

Leaving comments on related blogs is a method that is almost always underestimated by bloggers because it seems time consuming and is usually looked at as one of the slowest methods for generating traffic to your blog. If you want to find new readers who will keep coming back, though, the best place to get their attention is on blogs that relate to yours. When you leave smart and useful comments on the blogs inside of your niche, you give yourself the chance of impressing people who are likely to go through comments sections and converse themselves. This is a great chance to showcase the quality of your content through your own comments and that will make readers want to take a look at your blog and, hopefully, subscribe to it as well.

In order to consistently get new readers for your blog, you'll need to put an honest and persistent effort in to your project because it is obvious that you aren't going to go very far. It is important to figure out how to bring in lots of new blog readers without allowing yourself to compromise on your blog's quality. There's just so much you can achieve from your blog if you simply learn the art of persistence. Don't worry if you aren't seeing any major successes coming your way right now; if you stick to your goals, you'll find that progress does happen and that your big day keeps getting closer.

Networking is very important when you want to be a successful blogger, you'll see this in real life when you talk to, work with and ask questions to other bloggers. Try to find moderate bloggers--not super successful ones--because your goals here are to properly leverage the network that has already been built by these bloggers to help you get more readers for your own blog. Try to be subtle when you do this instead of aggressive.

Finally, as we all know, a good blog always has good content and a bad blog lacks in it. So when you want to outshine your competition and mine your target audience for more readers, you should start by offering up honest, good and high quality content to the people who read your blog. Your focus needs to be on creating content that is so valuable that it is impossible for people not to read you. You should try to improve your content creation methods and the way you deliver it on your blog on a regular basis. Taking your blog up a level and turning visitors into loyal readers isn't as hard as it seems. It's important to focus on the things that are important and that will help you increase your readership as well as to come up with goals that aren't just achievable but actually worth pursuing. So if you haven't put much effort into getting more readers for your blog then now is as good a time as any to get to work and make it happen.
